It’s been a while since I last posted a new song. Today’s hymn is an arrangement of a simple yet inspired piece by Alexander Schreiner entitled “Truth Eternal” (Hymn #4 in the LDS Hymnbook).
Consider these words penned by Parley P. Pratt
1. Truth eternal, truth divine,
In thine ancient fulness shine!
Burst the fetters of the mind
From the millions of mankind!2. Truth again restored to earth,
Opened with a prophet’s birth.
Priests of heaven’s royal line
Bear the keys of truth divine!3. Truth shall triumph as the light
Chases far the misty night.
Endless ages own its sway,
Clad in everlasting day.Text: Parley P. Pratt, 1807–1857 Music: Alexander Schreiner, 1901–1987

thanks I just want to say that
I love your choice of music. I love listening to you. Keep the songs coming.
Addison, Your music is so beautiful. I always feel that your music brings a wonderful spirit with it. As I listen to the song, Truth Eternal, I felt like it didn’t last long enough! I wanted it to continue…:) Addison the Lord had truly blessed you with a talent and my wish as a young mother was that my children could learn to play the hymns so that they could play if needed in church. I believe you have well exceeded my expectations! Thanks for bringing great music into our home. I was just thinking of a wonderful memory I have. When you were young, in 4th grade I believe, you would get up at 5:00 or 5:30 a.m. just so you could practice the piano before you went to school. (It seems that you played over an hour each morning) I can remember how nice it was to be awakened by the beautiful sounds that would come from the piano. You didn’t have to practice, you weren’t taking piano lessons then, but you loved to play and so it was important to you. What a talent you have developed and a love for the Lord and beautiful music. I hope you will always reflect the Savior in your music! I love you so much! MOM
